The Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council recognizes that the COVID-19 pandemic is posing a serious and dangerous threat across the world. This threat is demanding similar, yet regionally different responses from one area of the world to the next. For this reason, we are actively encouraging our member programs to make thoughtful and conscientious decisions guided by their respective local and state governments, along with their programs’ medical directors and all available expertise, as many programs continue to provide essential behavioral healthcare services to families that turn to our members for help and guidance. Our work is as needed now as ever.
All Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council programs are accredited, or working towards accreditation, with extensive risk management plans in place. The Council supports our member programs in following necessary precautions for the well-being and safety of the clients, their families, their program staff and communities.
We wish you all the best during this tumultuous time and invite you to join us August 27th in Park City, Utah for the national wilderness therapy symposium. We look forward to the day when we can once again gather in person, share expertise, present research, and promote the field together.
